Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 5 Overview
Attack on Titan Episode 80 , Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 21
What more is there left to be said about Attack On Titan? Even if you only consider yourself a casual anime fan, this show is probably one that you know about and watch avidly. It is an action and supernatural show based on the works of Hajime Isayama. It is known as Shingeki no Kyojin in original Japanese, and thus this half of the season is also called Shingeki no Kyojin Season 4 Part 2. You can also call it Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 or Shingeki no Kyojin Final Season Part 2 if you’d like.
This season is being animated by Studio MAPPA, a powerhouse studio behind several immensely popular anime properties, including Jujutsu Kaisen and the future Chainsaw Man. This season is directed by Yuiichirou Hayashi, with Jun Shishido serving as the chief director of the show. The duo was also in charge of Part 1 of the final season, alongside several other acclaimed anime such as Kakegurui and Hajime no Ippo. You can find our review of the previous episode right here.

Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 Episode 5 Review- The Future Is Scarier Than The Past
The more things change, the more they stay the same. This final season by Attack on Titan is perhaps the greatest callback to its origin by an anime ever seen. Few anime ever get the chance to create a legacy this big, and even less get to call back to it and build upon the brick and mortar they left over 8 years ago. In the best of ways, the current season of Attack on Titan is a love letter to its past. It has found the perfect mix of the past and the future, and we are enjoying every single second of it.

The previous episode was a love letter to every fan who has paid attention to the tiny details and the hints that the show has been leaving from its humble beginnings. It took the viewer through a journey to Eren and Zeke’s past, as we learned that Eren had more to do with the show’s happenings than we realised. He essentially caused the events of the entire show through his actions and weird yet somehow sensible time-travelling abilities.
We learnt that Zeke has now seemingly lost control of the situation entirely, which gets expanded upon in this episode. We get a brilliant callback to the title of the very first episode of the show, which was “To You, in 2000 Years”. We are now at “From You, 2000 Years ago”, and while the first episode was the origin story of Erin, the latest is the truth behind the origins of the originator and founder of the Titans, Ymir. The story isn’t as cut and dry as we all were led to believe.

In Shingeki no Kyojin Final Season Part 2 Episode 5 ( or Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 Episode 5, your choice), we went deep within the mythos of the show and came out at the end doubting everything we had ever known about the series. Ymir was always a misunderstood and under-appreciated character by even this show’s tall standards, but no one would have expected what that led to. It is a tale as old as time, of the tortured and the oppressed rising up against their oppressors.
But then, time is a flat circle. All the events that happened then were just the seeds on which this show and its conflicts grew. It is what led us to visions of the Rumbling, which the opening scene emphatically calls upon every episode. It is what caused Zeke and Eren’s stories to converge in this manner, and the deaths of everyone to make it so wasn’t in vain. It was all in service of the cause and a message from the founder from 2000 years ago. This is the extent to which we can talk about this episode while remaining spoiler-free, so know that it was fantastic and will leave you awestruck.
Verdict
Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 5 was just as good as the series always is and answers several questions about the show’s past. However, what happened at the end will remain the talking point for a long time. Good luck watching this one without getting spoiled.
