Specialized hospitals are emerging as critical hubs for advanced care in the Middle East, tackling everything from complex cardiac procedures and cancer therapies to cutting-edge neurology, orthopedic and pediatric treatments. For patients seeking expert-level care in these fields, selecting the right hospital can shape recovery, quality of life and long-term outcomes.
Noncommunicable diseases—including cardiovascular disease and cancer—now account for 66 percent of all deaths in the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Region, underscoring the growing demand for high-level specialty services across the Middle East.
To spotlight excellence in this evolving landscape, Newsweek and global data-intelligence firm Statista present Best Specialized Hospitals Middle East 2026, recognizing top hospitals across six disciplines—cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics and pediatrics—in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Hospitals were scored across three pillars: peer recommendations, accreditations and certifications and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures implementation. The peer recommendations stemmed from an international online survey in which health care professionals and hospital administrators nominated hospitals in their own or complementary fields. Accreditation data included both general hospital certifications and specialty-specific programs, while the PROMs implementation survey assessed whether hospitals collect, analyze and act on patient-reported functional and quality-of-life outcomes.
Specialized hospitals recognized in this year’s ranking include Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center – Riyadh, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital – Jeddah, King Hussein Cancer Center, Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital and Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital.
We hope this ranking provides clarity and confidence for anyone choosing advanced care options in the Middle East.
