No. 4 Women's Basketball cruises past Texas Southern

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas (4-0) scored over 100 points for the third time this season as they took a 111-45 win over Texas Southern (2-1) Sunday at Moody Center.

Texas saw six players record double digits tonight. Aaliyah CrumpMadison Booker, and Teya Sidberry all tallied game-leading 18 points. Kyle Oldacre grabbed nine rebounds along with 11 points. Justice Carlton added 12 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Lee chipped in 12 points and two rebounds.

Texas Southern tied the game 2-2 early in the first quarter, but the Longhorns used a 10-0 run to go up 12-2. Texas ended the first quarter with a 21-point lead 32-11. Booker was the leading scorer of quarter, putting up nine points along with Lee, scoring six, and Crump putting up five. The Longhorns' defense forced eight turnovers over the Tigers in the first period. 

The Longhorns ended the first half against Texas Southern with a 60-25. Texas scored 20 points in the paint in the second quarter with Carlton and Crump both recording seven points. The Longhorns forced 13 turnovers in the second quarter and 33 for the game. 

Texas wrapped up the third quarter with 29 points and held the Tigers to eight points for the quarter. Sidberry led the quarter with eight points and grabbed three rebounds alongside Booker, scoring seven with one assist.

In the final quarter, Texas went on a 12-0 run for 5:10 with leading scorers Carlton adding five points and Crump adding four. Sarah Graves came into the game and instantly scored a 3-point jump shot for the Longhorns. Oldacre and Carlton led the quarter in rebounds with seven and six, respectively
