Star LoL player Gumayusi leaves T1
On November 17, T1 announced the shocking departure of their star ADC.
The League of Legends team shared a farewell video on their YouTube channel. In the clip, Gumayusi opened up about his time with T1. He even talked about his motivations and provided a reason behind his decision to leave. “I will be leaving T1 and starting a new chapter, another journey to prove myself,” the 23-year-old LoL veteran stated.
Gumayusi also shared a heartfelt message for his fans, noting, “There were so many good times and a lot of hard ones, too. But you still stood by me and loved me as T1’s Gumayusi. For that, I’m extremely grateful. This news might feel disappointing, but I’ll still be Gumayusi. I hope you’ll keep rooting for me, all the way to the end.”
Apart from the farewell video, T1 also shared a tribute post on their official X (formerly Twitter) account. “‘Gumayusi’ has concluded his time with T1 as he moves forward to take on a new challenge. The trophies we lifted together and the legacy he built will always be a proud part of our history and in the hearts of our fans. We are deeply grateful for his dedication, sacrifice, and incredible performances throughout his years with us. As he begins this next chapter, we’ll continue to cheer for him and wish him every success ahead,” they wrote.
Having joined T1 in 2018, Gumayusi has managed to carve an iconic career with the LoL side in seven years. The seasoned ADC has secured one LCK title and three consecutive world championships in his tenure with T1.
Gumayusi also bagged the Finals MVP title in the series against KT Rolster in the 2025 season. Moreover, it ended in T1 securing the only three-peat in LoL Esports history.
At the time of writing, Gumayusi has not revealed the team he would be joining next. Additionally, T1 has yet to announce an adequate replacement for their departing star.
