The intrigue: Harissa's menu takes influence from several Mediterranean countries, including Italy, Turkey and Lebanon, co-owner Jimmy Sejdini tells Axios.
- Sejdini and his sister brought chefs from Michigan, their home state, to oversee Harissa's opening.

- "There are a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in Michigan. We couldn't find anything like that here, so we said let's just try it," Sejdini, whose family has been in the restaurant business for decades, tells Axios.
What to order: Shish tawook — marinated chicken kabobs with rice and veggies — and the beef pepperoni pide, a Turkish flatbread.
- The pita, given to every table, is seasoned and soft — just like the pita Sejdini grew up with in Detroit.
Where: Harissa Mediteranean, 5805 Preston Road, in Plano.
Cost: $26 for the shish tawook, $15 for the pide
Six word review: Mildly seasoned chicken, and yet flavorful.
