[Epoch Times, November 19, 2025] (Epoch Times reporter Ye Zijie compiled report) On the 18th local time, Rotten Tomatoes reviews and audience ratings for "Wicked: For Good" were released. Although the cast is still strong, the reviews from critics for the sequel do not seem to have reached the level of the first film. However, audiences may be satisfied with the story.

Before its US release on November 21st, *Wicked: The Second Wick* received mixed reviews from critics, but received high praise from audiences. As of today, on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 73% fresh rating out of 102 critic reviews, lower than its predecessor's 88%. However, over 2,500 audience members have given it a 97% fresh rating, higher than the predecessor's 95%. On IMDb, it has a perfect score of 10, receiving a 7.3 rating from audiences.

A Screen Rant critic stated that if you enjoyed the way Wicked adapted the original comics, then Wicked: The Second Movie will definitely meet your expectations. The moment the first song starts playing, that lingering excitement will instantly surge back to you.

A Hollywood Reporter critic stated that Ariana Grande-Butera (American singer) imbued the character with a wealth of emotion, making her more human and three-dimensional, which in turn made the entire film more compelling.

A USA Today film critic said that while the ending was a bit too complicated and there were some minor flaws in the character development, you couldn't ask for a more perfect ending to Wicked.

A Variety film critic stated that the film addresses a common complaint about the stage play, allowing the main characters more screen time (and songs) in the final stages, making it feel like a complete and compelling story.

A Collider film critic stated that *Wicked: The Second Movie* is not only a faithful adaptation but also builds upon the success of the first film, particularly highlighting the protagonist's performance. The characters are more mature and nuanced, making it a truly deserving sequel to the first movie.

A Deadline reviewer stated that the visual effects were top-notch, and the entire musical adaptation was brilliantly crafted and cinematic. The two films combined are nearly five hours long, differing by only two minutes. Frankly, I wish I could have seen more.

A film critic from The Times said they really did it. In terms of energy, ambition, and emotional impact, the team behind this musical sequel has delivered a film that surpasses last year's box office hit.

A film critic from Empire magazine said that while it wasn't exactly a rainbow leap, it had enough color and sincerity to be passable.

An IndieWire film critic noted that elements that didn't work the first time, well, still do. And what about the elements that worked in *Wicked*? They're still effective, but only slightly better than before.

A critic for *TheWrap* stated that since Andy Muschietti's *It Chapter Two* (2017), no pre-planned sequel has been as disappointing as this one. At least no one will be vomiting on Jeff Goldblum to Juice Newton's *Angel of the Morning*.

According to Deadline, Jon M. Chu's *Wicked 2* is the highest-selling PG-rated film ever on Fandango, the largest online movie ticketing platform in the US, surpassing *Beauty and the Beast* (2017) and *Frozen II* (2019). Furthermore, it also boasts the highest pre-sales of any film slated for 2025, and is projected to gross $110 million in its opening weekend in North America.

Wicked: The Second Wick will be released in Taiwan on November 19, 2025.
